Dominant groups

Analysis of the five year age groups of Bulleen in 2021 compared to Templestowe shows that there was a lower proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a lower proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 14.5% of the population was aged between 0 and 15, and 24.1% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 15.5% and 24.9% respectively for Templestowe.

The major differences between the age structure of Bulleen and Templestowe were:

  • A larger percentage of persons aged 30 to 34 (5.9% compared to 4.8%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 50 to 54 (7.6% compared to 6.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 65 to 69 (4.8% compared to 6.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 60 to 64 (6.0% compared to 7.2%)

From 2016 to 2021, Bulleen's population increased by 237 people (2.2%). This represents an average annual population change of 0.43% per year over the period.

The largest changes in age structure in this area between 2016 and 2021 were in the age groups:
