Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of people in Manningham City Council compared to Victoria shows that there was a similar proportion of people who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 5.7% of the population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 5.9% for Victoria.

The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance in Doncaster East and Victoria were:

  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 65 to 69 (5.7% compared to 8.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 75 to 79 (15.3% compared to 17.8%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 60 to 64 (4.2% compared to 6.5%)
