Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Division 10 in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (1,599 males or 23.6%)
  • Manufacturing (698 males or 10.3%)
  • Retail Trade (528 males or 7.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,825 males in total or 41.6% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Tamborine - Mundoolun - Cedar Creek employed 26.4% in Construction; 11.3% in Manufacturing; and 6.2% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Division 10 and Tamborine - Mundoolun - Cedar Creek were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (6.3% compared to 3.7%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in health care and social assistance (5.0% compared to 2.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in construction (23.6% compared to 26.4%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in other services (4.3% compared to 6.5%)

Emerging groups

The number of employed males in Division 10 increased by 383 between 2016 and 2021.

The largest changes in the jobs held by the male resident population between 2016 and 2021 in Division 10 were for those employed in:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (+126 males)
  • Administrative and Support Services (+65 males)
  • Arts and Recreation Services (+64 males)
  • Electricity, Gas, Water and Waste Services (+56 males)
