Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Kingston in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (520 females or 25.7%)
  • Retail Trade (246 females or 12.1%)
  • Education and Training (222 females or 11.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 988 females in total or 48.7% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Crestmead employed 23.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 14.8% in Retail Trade; and 9.7% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Kingston and Crestmead were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (25.7% compared to 23.5%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in education and training (11.0% compared to 9.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in retail trade (12.1% compared to 14.8%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in manufacturing (5.9% compared to 7.5%)
