In 2021, the largest age group in Division 4 was 0 to 4 year olds. The group that changed the most since 2011 was 0 to 4 year olds, increasing by 1,815 people.

Dominant groups

Analysis of the five year age groups of Division 4 in 2021 compared to Meadowbrook shows that there was a higher proportion of people in the younger age groups (under 15) and a lower proportion of people in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 26.3% of the population was aged between 0 and 15, and 12.3% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 17.7% and 16.5% respectively for Meadowbrook.

The major differences between the age structure of Division 4 and Meadowbrook were:

  • A larger percentage of persons aged 0 to 4 (9.2% compared to 4.9%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 5 to 9 (8.8% compared to 6.4%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 10 to 14 (8.4% compared to 6.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons aged 60 to 64 (4.1% compared to 6.5%)

From 2011 to 2021, Division 4's population increased by 15,606 people (127.6%). This represents an average annual population change of 8.57% per year over the period.

The largest changes in age structure in this area between 2011 and 2021 were in the age groups:

  • 0 to 4 (+1,815 persons)
  • 5 to 9 (+1,652 persons)
  • 30 to 34 (+1,591 persons)
  • 25 to 29 (+1,462 persons)
