Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Yeppoon in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (417 people or 14.5%)
  • Education and Training (339 people or 11.8%)
  • Construction (271 people or 9.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,027 people in total or 35.7% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Livingstone Shire Council area employed 13.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.9% in Education and Training; and 10.5% in Construction.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Yeppoon and Livingstone Shire Council area were:
