Dominant groups
Analysis of the ancestry responses of the population in Liverpool LGA in 2021 shows that the top five ancestries nominated were:
- Australian (36,374 people or 15.6%)
- English (28,494 people or 12.2%)
- Indian (14,033 people or 6.0%)
- Lebanese (13,883 people or 5.9%)
- Italian (13,220 people or 5.7%)
In combination these five ancestries account for 106,004 responses in total, or 45.41% of all responses.
The major differences between the ancestries of the population in Liverpool LGA and Greater Sydney were:
- A smaller percentage of people with English ancestry (12.2% compared to 23.8%)
