Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Wahroonga in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (2,512 people or 40.4%)
- Managers (1,336 people or 21.5%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (798 people or 12.8%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 4,646 people in total or 74.7% of the employed resident population.
In comparison, Ku-ring-gai Council area employed 41.6% in Professionals; 22.3% in Managers; and 12.3% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Wahroonga and Ku-ring-gai Council area were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (7.7% compared to 6.3%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed as Professionals (40.4% compared to 41.6%)
Emerging groups
The number of employed people in Wahroonga increased by 213 between 2016 and 2021.
The largest changes in the occupations of residents between 2016 and 2021 in Wahroonga were for those employed as:
