There were more professionals in The Basin in 2021 than any other occupation.

Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in The Basin in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (452 people or 19.5%)
  • Technicians and Trades Workers (410 people or 17.7%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (327 people or 14.1%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 1,189 people in total or 51.3% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, Scoresby employed 23.2% in Professionals; 14.0% in Technicians and Trades Workers; and 13.2% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of The Basin and Scoresby were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (17.7% compared to 14.0%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Managers (13.7% compared to 12.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed as Professionals (19.5% compared to 23.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed as Labourers (8.0% compared to 9.0%)
