Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Wantirna in 2011 compared to the City of Knox shows that there was a similar proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a similar proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 40.0% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 10.9% were one-parent families, compared with 40.1% and 11.4% respectively for the City of Knox.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 17.8% compared to 18.9% in the City of Knox while the proportion of couples without children was 26.4% compared to 24.2% in the City of Knox.
