Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Boronia in 2021 compared to the City of Knox shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 27.9% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 12.2% were one-parent families, compared with 37.1% and 11.2% respectively for the City of Knox.

There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a similar proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 27.3% compared to 20.7% in the City of Knox while the proportion of couples without children was 24.5% compared to 25.0% in the City of Knox.
