In 2021,5291 1,636 people aged 15 to 17 years living in the City of Kingston were employed, of which were working full time and 86.4% part time.

Employment statistics are an important indicator of socio-economic status. Dominant groups

The size of the City of Kingston's labour force aged 15 to 17 years in 2021 was 2,153 persons, of which 1,413 were employed part-time and 37 were full time workers.

Analysis of the employment status of people aged 15 to 17 years (as a percentage of the labour force) in the City of Kingston in 2021 compared to the total population in the City of Kingston shows that there was a lower proportion in employment, and a higher proportion unemployed. Overall, 76.0% of the labour force aged 15 to 17 years was employed and 24.0% unemployed, compared with 95.7% and 4.3% respectively for the total population in the City of Kingston.
