Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Central Ward in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,879 people or 13.6%)
  • Construction (1,774 people or 12.8%)
  • Education and Training (1,481 people or 10.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 5,134 people in total or 37.1% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Warwick employed 14.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 11.3% in Construction; and 11.3% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Central Ward and Warwick were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in construction (12.8% compared to 11.3%)
