Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Iluka in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (439 people or 13.6%)
  • Education and Training (344 people or 10.6%)
  • Construction (332 people or 10.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,115 people in total or 34.5% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Sorrento employed 12.6% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 11.5% in Education and Training; and 9.4% in Construction.

The major difference between the jobs held by the population of Iluka and Sorrento was:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in manufacturing (4.3% compared to 3.2%)
