Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in City of Joondalup in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (9,313 females or 22.8%)
  • Education and Training (6,960 females or 17.1%)
  • Retail Trade (4,112 females or 10.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 20,385 females in total or 50.0% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Greater Perth employed 23.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 13.6% in Education and Training; and 10.7% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of the City of Joondalup and Greater Perth were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in education and training (17.1% compared to 13.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in accommodation and food services (6.2% compared to 7.4%)
