Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in City of Joondalup in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (8,162 males or 19.0%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (4,148 males or 9.6%)
  • Mining (4,019 males or 9.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 16,329 males in total or 38.0% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Greater Perth employed 14.3% in Construction; 8.6% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; and 9.9% in Mining.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of the City of Joondalup and Greater Perth were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in construction (19.0% compared to 14.3%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (9.6% compared to 8.6%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in transport, postal and warehousing (4.4% compared to 6.7%)
