Analysis of the car ownership of the households in Joondalup in 2021 compared to the City of Joondalup shows that 86.6% of the households owned at least one car, while 6.8% did not, compared with 94.9% and 2.5% respectively in the City of Joondalup.

Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a larger proportion who owned just one car; a smaller proportion who owned two cars; and a smaller proportion who owned three cars or more.

Overall, 39.9% of the households owned one car; 32.6% owned two cars; and 14.2% owned three cars or more, compared with 27.4%; 43.9% and 23.6% respectively for the City of Joondalup.
