Dominant groups

Analysis of the housing tenure of low income households in the Inner West Council in 2021 compared to Greater Sydney shows that there was a larger proportion low income households who owned their dwelling; a smaller proportion purchasing their dwelling; and a similar proportion who were renters.

Overall, 46.4% of people in low income households were in fully owned dwellings; 8.3% had a mortgage, and 40.8% were renting, compared with 41.5%, 12.4% and 40.9% respectively for Greater Sydney.
