Analysis of the car ownership of the households in Marrickville South in 2021 compared to Petersham shows that 74.2% of the households owned at least one car, while 20.6% did not, compared with 74.8% and 20.8% respectively in Petersham.
Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a smaller proportion who owned just one car; a smaller proportion who owned two cars; and a larger proportion who owned three cars or more.
Overall, 48.5% of the households owned one car; 18.9% owned two cars; and 6.8% owned three cars or more, compared with 49.6%; 20.1% and 5.0% respectively for Petersham.
