Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Hume City in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (10,396 females or 22.4%)
  • Education and Training (5,953 females or 12.8%)
  • Retail Trade (5,476 females or 11.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 21,825 females in total or 47.1% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Coolaroo employed 25.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 11.1% in Education and Training; and 10.8% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Hume City and Coolaroo were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in education and training (12.8% compared to 11.1%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in financial and insurance services (3.9% compared to 2.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (22.4% compared to 25.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in administrative and support services (3.9% compared to 6.4%)
