Dominant groups

Analysis of individual income levels in Dallas in 2021 compared to Hume City shows that there was a lower proportion of people earning a high income (those earning $2,000 per week or more) and a higher proportion of low income people (those earning less than $500 per week).

Overall, 2.2% of the population earned a high income, and 52.2% earned a low income, compared with 6.8% and 38.9% respectively for Hume City.

The major differences between Dallas's individual incomes and Hume City's individual incomes were:

  • A larger percentage of persons who earned $300 - $399 (14.7% compared to 9.0%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons who earned $1,000 - $1,249 (5.8% compared to 9.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons who earned $1,500 - $1,749 (2.2% compared to 5.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons who earned $2,000 - $2,999 (1.8% compared to 4.9%)
