Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Hornsby in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (2,003 people or 17.4%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (1,585 people or 13.8%)
  • Education and Training (1,066 people or 9.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 4,654 people in total or 40.5% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Hornsby Shire employed 15.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 13.8% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; and 11.0% in Education and Training.
