Dominant groups

Analysis of individual income levels in Newport in 2021 compared to Newport East shows that there was a similar proportion of people earning a high income (those earning $2,000 per week or more) and a lower proportion of low income people (those earning less than $500 per week).

Overall, 27.6% of the population earned a high income, and 25.0% earned a low income, compared with 27.3% and 27.7% respectively for Newport East.

The major differences between Newport's individual incomes and Newport East's individual incomes were:
