Dominant groups

Analysis of the qualifications of recent overseas arrivals in Hobsons Bay City in 2021 compared to Victoria shows that there was a higher proportion of people holding formal qualifications (Bachelor or higher degree; Advanced Diploma or Diploma; or Vocational qualifications), and a lower proportion of people with no formal qualifications.

Overall, 72.1% of recent overseas arrivals aged 15 and over held educational qualifications, and 23.5% had no qualifications, compared with 66.0% and 30.2% respectively for Victoria.
