Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in City of Greater Geelong in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (29,365 people or 22.7%)
  • Technicians and Trades Workers (18,789 people or 14.5%)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (17,599 people or 13.6%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 65,753 people in total or 50.7% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, Herne Hill - Fyansford employed 24.8% in Professionals; 14.7% in Technicians and Trades Workers; and 13.6% in Community and Personal Service Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the City of Greater Geelong and Herne Hill - Fyansford were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed as Labourers (9.6% compared to 7.6%)
