Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Rural North in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (69 females or 18.8%)
  • Education and Training (34 females or 9.2%)
  • Retail Trade (33 females or 9.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 136 females in total or 37.0% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Waurn Ponds - Ceres employed 25.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 15.4% in Education and Training; and 15.3% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Rural North and Waurn Ponds - Ceres were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (7.1% compared to 0.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in accommodation and food services (6.8% compared to 13.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (18.8% compared to 25.4%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in retail trade (9.0% compared to 15.3%)

Emerging groups

The number of employed females in Rural North increased by 61 between 2016 and 2021.

There were no major differences in Rural North between 2016 and 2021.
