Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Belmont in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,129 females or 30.2%)
  • Education and Training (569 females or 15.2%)
  • Retail Trade (410 females or 11.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 2,108 females in total or 56.4% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Waurn Ponds - Ceres employed 25.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 15.4% in Education and Training; and 15.3% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Belmont and Waurn Ponds - Ceres were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (30.2% compared to 25.4%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in public administration and safety (6.7% compared to 4.4%)
