Analysis of the families with children in East Geelong in 2021 compared to Bell Park shows that there was a larger proportion of couples with young children, and a similar proportion of couples with older children.
Overall, 15.0% of total households with children were couple with young children, and 7.9% were couples with older children, compared with 11.7% and 7.9% respectively for Bell Park.
There were a smaller proportion of single parent households with young children and a smaller proportion of single parent households with older children. Overall, the proportion of single parent households with young children was 2.7% compared to 3.3% in Bell Park while the proportion of single parent households with older children was 5.5% compared to 6.6% in Bell Park.
