Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Gannawarra Shire in 2016 compared to Regional VIC shows that there was a lower proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 22.2% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 7.0% were one-parent families, compared with 25.3% and 10.1% respectively for Regional VIC.

There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 30.5% compared to 27.0% in Regional VIC while the proportion of couples without children was 31.0% compared to 27.1% in Regional VIC.
