Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Skye in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Construction (523 males or 23.8%)
- Manufacturing (349 males or 15.9%)
- Retail Trade (209 males or 9.5%)
In combination, these three industries employed 1,081 males in total or 49.1% of the total employed male resident population.
In comparison, Frankston City employed 23.6% in Construction; 12.1% in Manufacturing; and 8.5% in Retail Trade.
The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Skye and Frankston City were:
- A larger percentage of males employed in manufacturing (15.9% compared to 12.1%)
- A larger percentage of males employed in other services (5.5% compared to 4.1%)
- A smaller percentage of males employed in professional, scientific and technical services (3.7% compared to 5.6%)
- A smaller percentage of males employed in health care and social assistance (3.8% compared to 4.8%)
