Analysis of the service age groups of Wujal Wujal Aboriginal (S) in 2021 compared to Australia shows that there was a higher proportion of people in the younger age groups (0 to 17 years) and a lower proportion of people in the older age groups (60+ years).
Overall, 30.0% of the population was aged between 0 and 17, and 13.7% were aged 60 years and over, compared with 21.7% and 23.0% respectively for Australia.
The major differences between the age structure of Wujal Wujal Aboriginal (S) and Australia were:
- A larger percentage of 'Primary schoolers' (15.2% compared to 8.7%)
- A larger percentage of 'Young workforce' (19.6% compared to 14.3%)
- A smaller percentage of 'Seniors' (4.8% compared to 10.0%)
- A smaller percentage of 'Parents and homebuilders' (15.6% compared to 20.2%)
