Analysis of the service age groups of Wujal Wujal Aboriginal (S) in 2021 compared to Cook (S) shows that there was a higher proportion of people in the younger age groups (0 to 17 years) and a lower proportion of people in the older age groups (60+ years).
Overall, 30.0% of the population was aged between 0 and 17, and 13.7% were aged 60 years and over, compared with 20.3% and 26.5% respectively for Cook (S).
The major differences between the age structure of Wujal Wujal Aboriginal (S) and Cook (S) were:
- A larger percentage of 'Primary schoolers' (15.2% compared to 8.9%)
- A larger percentage of 'Young workforce' (19.6% compared to 13.7%)
- A smaller percentage of 'Empty nesters and retirees' (8.9% compared to 15.3%)
- A smaller percentage of 'Seniors' (4.8% compared to 10.7%)
