Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Canberra Region Extended in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (62,666 females or 28.8%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (43,793 females or 20.1%)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (34,297 females or 15.7%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 140,756 females in total or 64.6% of the employed female resident population.

In comparison, Canberra Region employed 22.9% in Professionals; 20.4% in Clerical and Administrative Workers; and 17.3% in Community and Personal Service Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Canberra Region Extended and Canberra Region were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed as Professionals (28.8% compared to 22.9%)
