Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Cook Shire in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (196 females or 22.8%)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (118 females or 13.8%)
  • Education and Training (118 females or 13.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 432 females in total or 50.3% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, FNQROC employed 24.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.7% in Accommodation and Food Services; and 13.1% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Cook Shire and FNQROC were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (10.3% compared to 4.2%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in public administration and safety (11.0% compared to 6.1%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in accommodation and food services (13.8% compared to 10.7%)
