Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Colac Otway Shire in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Manufacturing (1,514 people or 14.2%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (1,415 people or 13.3%)
  • Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing (1,210 people or 11.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 4,139 people in total or 38.9% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Regional VIC employed 7.4% in Manufacturing; 16.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 7.2% in Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing.
