Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Green Point in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (566 people or 19.3%)
  • Retail Trade (323 people or 11.0%)
  • Education and Training (282 people or 9.6%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,171 people in total or 39.9% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Central Coast Council area employed 17.8% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.2% in Retail Trade; and 8.2% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Green Point and Central Coast Council area were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in professional, scientific and technical services (8.0% compared to 6.0%)
