Dominant groups

Analysis of individual income levels in Mountains in 2021 compared to Central Coast Council area shows that there was a higher proportion of people earning a high income (those earning $2,000 per week or more) and a lower proportion of low income people (those earning less than $500 per week).

Overall, 11.7% of the population earned a high income, and 30.7% earned a low income, compared with 9.7% and 33.6% respectively for Central Coast Council area.

The major differences between Mountains's individual incomes and Central Coast Council area's individual incomes were:

  • A larger percentage of persons who earned $3,500 or more (3.4% compared to 2.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons who earned $650 - $799 (5.9% compared to 7.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons who earned $400 - $499 (7.6% compared to 9.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons who earned $300 - $399 (7.3% compared to 8.7%)
