Dominant groups

Analysis of the household/family types in Central Coast Council area in 2021 compared to Long Jetty - Shelly Beach - Toowoon Bay - Blue Bay shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a similar proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 27.1% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 12.8% were one-parent families, compared with 19.2% and 12.9% respectively for Long Jetty - Shelly Beach - Toowoon Bay - Blue Bay.

There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 26.0% compared to 33.5% in Long Jetty - Shelly Beach - Toowoon Bay - Blue Bay while the proportion of couples without children was 25.8% compared to 24.0% in Long Jetty - Shelly Beach - Toowoon Bay - Blue Bay.
