Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of people in Central Coast NSW compared to Central Coast Council area shows that there was a higher proportion of people who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 8.0% of the population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 7.0% for Central Coast Council area.

The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance in the Peninsula District and Central Coast Council area were:

  • A larger percentage of persons aged 85 and over (46.0% compared to 42.3%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 75 to 79 (16.7% compared to 15.2%)

Emerging groups

The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance between 2016 and 2021 in the Peninsula District were in the age groups:

  • 75 to 79 (+135 persons)
