Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of people in Central Coast NSW compared to Central Coast Council area shows that there was a higher proportion of people who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 8.0% of the population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 7.0% for Central Coast Council area.

The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance in Blue Haven and Central Coast Council area were:

  • A larger percentage of persons aged 80 to 84 (31.9% compared to 23.7%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 70 to 74 (16.2% compared to 10.2%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 75 to 79 (20.0% compared to 15.2%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 65 to 69 (12.0% compared to 8.1%)
