Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of people in Central Coast NSW compared to Erina shows that there was a lower proportion of people who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 7.0% of the population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 10.1% for Erina.

The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance in Central Coast Council area and Erina were:

  • A larger percentage of persons aged 85 and over (42.3% compared to 28.9%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 80 to 84 (23.7% compared to 17.8%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 75 to 79 (15.2% compared to 10.8%)
  • A larger percentage of persons aged 5 to 9 (6.3% compared to 3.9%)

Emerging groups
