Dominant groups

The size of Central Coast NSW's labour force needing assistance in 2021 was 1,939, of which 802 were employed part-time and 451 were full time workers.

Analysis of the employment status of people needing assistance (as a percentage of the labour force) in Central Coast NSW in 2021 compared to Greater Sydney shows that there was a lower proportion in employment, and a higher proportion unemployed. Overall, 85.4% of the labour force needing assistance was employed, and 14.6% unemployed, compared with 86.9% and 13.1% respectively for Greater Sydney.

The labour force participation rate refers to the proportion of the population over 15 years of age that was employed or actively looking for work.

Analysis of the labour force participation rate of the population needing assistance in Central Coast NSW in 2021 shows that there was a similar proportion in the labour force (9.1%) compared with Greater Sydney (9.1%).
