In Central Coast NSW, 53.5% of recent arrivals were in couples with children households.

Central Coast NSW's household and family structure is one of the most important demographic indicators. For recent arrivals only those family members who arrived in the 5 years prior to Census are counted. Other family members may have arrived at different times or been born in Australia.

It reveals the area's residential role and function for migrants and what type of households they are forming. Migrants may form mainly family households, or can be lone person or group households, particularly in student areas.
