Dominant groups

Analysis of the car ownership of the households with recent arrivals in Central Coast NSW in 2021 compared to the total overseas born population in Central Coast NSW shows that 95.0% of recent arrivals were in households who owned at least one car and 4.0% were not, compared with 94.5% and 4.4% respectively in the total overseas born population in Central Coast NSW.

Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a larger proportion who owned just one car, a larger proportion who owned two cars, and a smaller proportion who owned three cars or more.

Overall, 37.9% of recent arrivals were in households who owned one car, 40.5% owned two cars, and 16.6% owned three cars or more, compared with 34.5%, 39.1% and 20.9% respectively for the total overseas born population in Central Coast NSW.
