Analysis of car ownership in 2021, indicates 66% of households in the City of Casey had access to two or more motor vehicles, compared to 51% in Greater Melbourne.

The ability of the population to access services and employment is strongly influenced by access to transport. Dominant groups

Analysis of the car ownership of the households in the City of Casey in 2021 compared to Greater Melbourne shows that 92.2% of the households owned at least one car, while 2.9% did not, compared with 87.0% and 8.2% respectively in Greater Melbourne.

Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a smaller proportion who owned just one car; a larger proportion who owned two cars; and a larger proportion who owned three cars or more.

Overall, 26.2% of the households owned one car; 42.5% owned two cars; and 23.5% owned three cars or more, compared with 35.6%; 35.1% and 16.3% respectively for Greater Melbourne.
