Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Cardinia Shire in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (6,627 females or 23.8%)
  • Education and Training (3,736 females or 13.4%)
  • Retail Trade (3,274 females or 11.8%)

In combination, these three industries employed 13,637 females in total or 49.0% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Gembrook employed 21.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 15.9% in Education and Training; and 10.1% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Cardinia Shire and Gembrook were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (23.8% compared to 21.5%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in retail trade (11.8% compared to 10.1%)
