Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Roselands in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (606 people or 12.7%)
  • Retail Trade (527 people or 11.0%)
  • Construction (450 people or 9.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,583 people in total or 33.1% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, the City of Canterbury Bankstown employed 13.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.2% in Retail Trade; and 8.2% in Construction.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Roselands and the City of Canterbury Bankstown were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in construction (9.4% compared to 8.2%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in manufacturing (4.7% compared to 6.3%)
