Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Camden in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (229 people or 15.1%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (214 people or 14.1%)
  • Education and Training (186 people or 12.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 629 people in total or 41.4% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Camden Council area employed 12.8% in Construction; 12.9% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 9.8% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Camden and Camden Council area were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in education and training (12.2% compared to 9.8%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in construction (15.1% compared to 12.8%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in manufacturing (4.4% compared to 7.0%)
