Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Town of Cambridge in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (2,738 people or 18.3%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (2,298 people or 15.3%)
  • Education and Training (1,506 people or 10.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 6,542 people in total or 43.7% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Greater Perth employed 14.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 7.8% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; and 8.8% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the Town of Cambridge and Greater Perth were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in professional, scientific and technical services (15.3% compared to 7.8%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in health care and social assistance (18.3% compared to 14.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in construction (5.8% compared to 8.9%)
