Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Whitfield in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (523 people or 23.9%)
  • Education and Training (206 people or 9.4%)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (173 people or 7.9%)

In combination, these three industries employed 902 people in total or 41.2% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Cairns employed 18.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 8.9% in Education and Training; and 9.9% in Accommodation and Food Services.
